AYDEN'S 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!

Today is my little baby's 1st birthday. It's so hard to believe that he came into my world only one short year ago. How is the time going by so fast! I wish I could just slow it down and keep him my little baby forever. However, it is fun to see him grow and learn new things. For his birthday we bought him this little explorer's truck thing. He can either push it or sit on it and ride, and it's got about a billion little buttons and things to do on it. He loves pushing buttons, he takes his little pointer finger and very carefully pushes them. It's SO cute! I'm so excited to watch him grow older and I'm so lucky to be the mom of the cutest little boy! Here are some pictures we took of him digging into his first birthday cake!

So good to be home!

So we are finally home! It has been a really long week, so fun!, but long. It's good to be home. We went to California with Brian's family and it was so fun to be there with everyone. It was the first vacation where EVERYONE was there, since I have been in the family anyways. My favorite day was when we went to Disneyland. I am a pretty big Disneyland freak and I was SO excited to go and to take Ayden on his first trip! I don't know why, but he was SO excited. As soon as I got him out of the car he was laughing and waving his arms around. There is a video clip we got of him before he went on his first ride and that's pretty much how he was for quite a while in the beginning. It was so cute! We took him on some of the little kid rides and he loved them. He would stand on our laps and was so fascinated by all the lights and colors. He would dart his little head around trying to look at every single thing on the ride. He was really good there too, I made him this baby sling before the trip and it turned out to be a LIFESAVER! He just loved sitting in there being close to someone, and he would even fall asleep in it! It was so fun cuddling with him! I had so much fun in California, It's so nice to not be so new in the family and to be comfortable. Karen, Jennifer, Katie, Brian's Mom and I decided not to sit around too much while the guys did stuff. We had our own girl's night's, going to see Indiana Jones, getting ice cream, and shopping. Brian and I had a blast and are so sad to be back to real life! Thank You Don and Robin for such fun trip that we will always remember!

Ayden and I about to go into Disneyland! (Look how cute he looks in his little sling :))

Brian and Ayden, he is so happy!

Ayden passed out in his stroller (don't know how he slept with all the noise around him!

P.S. I Love You

So It's been quite a while since I have seen a movie I really liked. Yesterday, Brian and I rented P.S. I Love You. It looked cute and I had wanted to see it when it came out in the theaters but never did. I liked it so much. I don't know if I was just in the right mood for it or what but I loved it! (Brian didn't like it at all). I don't know what is the matter with me but I have been SO emotional lately (I promise I'm not pregnant!), I don't think I have ever cried so many times in a movie. But it was still so good! There was, however, a surprise naked butt in it so beware. It's very brief but it's there! But such a good movie! And for anyone who hasn't tried it yet, I rented it from redbox. It's those red movie rental boxes you see in Walgreen's and Walmarts. It is only $1 to rent them, for real! You just have to be sure and turn it in by 9 the next day and even then they only charge you a dollar a day. SO much cheaper than blockbuster, and we don't do netflix anymore. Anyways if your looking for a good, very romantic movie (more romantic, then romantic comedy) this one's great!

HELP needed with shopping nightmares!

So the other day I went to CVS with Ayden. He was horrible, he would cry if I made him sit in the cart and when I would hold him he would try to wriggle loose out of my arms. None of his toys would keep him entertained and he doesn't take a pacifier (which at times when he is screaming in the middle of stores I wish he would take one). I was so flustered and frustrated with him that I was sweating, turning bright red, and close on the verge of tears. Dramatic, I know, but it's stressful to deal with in the middle of a store by yourself. Then as I thought it couldn't get worse, he threw up TWICE all over the place! He has been like this the past week or two in EVERY store we have been to. He isn't teething so I know it isn't that. He has never been like this before, he was always so good whenever I took him out. I am getting TERRIFIED of our upcoming trip to California, which is so sad because I have been looking forward to it for so long. He is fine if we stay at home and he has free reign, but going out anywhere has become a scary thing. If ANYONE has any advice I would be so happy to hear it! I want our California trip to be fun and not scary, but I just don't know what to do (especially what is age appropriate to do).

swimsuit rant

My enemy, the monokini: So Brian and I went to the mall today to look for a swimsuit for me when we go to California next month. We went to every store that carried swimsuits in the mall and for one, we don't even come CLOSE to being able to afford anything there and second, there is not much in the way AT ALL to choose from when it comes to one-pieces. The ones that they DID have looked more like they were for a 70 year old woman than for me (at least when I'm older I'll have a much easier time :)). See, the new rage in swimwear seems to be these "monokini's". Its pretty much a bikini with a strip down the front middle. Even Target, the store that I thought couldn't fail me seem to have gotten rid of most their one pieces and have a ton of these monokini's. The REALYY sad thing is that these monokini's are so cute! They are made of cute fabric, why cant they just make one-peices that cute!?! So I have pretty much tried on EVERY one piece that we could afford and have been so disappointed. Not really any cute ones at all. I even went so far as to try on the dreaded monokini, only to be VERY sad. The only way you could get away with wearing one of these is well, if you can get away with wearing a bikini. Which I definitely can't and wouldn't even if I could. It's just so frustrating, I mean swimsuit shopping, for me anyways, isn't my idea of fun shopping, and to add the very depressing variety doesn't help much. I did however find a cute tankini top that is actually long! That is my problem with tankini's, the tops never seem to be very long. But I did find a cute long one. I really just want ONE one-piece though. So I guess I'll still be on the hunt for a while :)

Oh to be 17 again!

This weekend we went to Tucson for Eden's birthday. While we were staying at my parents house they gave me a letter that was from my high school teacher. It was a letter that I wrote to myself my senior year in high school! I don't even remember writing it! I just thought it was pretty cool that my teacher actually mailed them 5 years later. It was pretty funny to read, remembering what my worries were at the time. Anyway's here is the letter:

Dear Me!
Im writing to you on February 25, 2003. I am a senior in high school. This last weekend I went to Tony and Guy's to get highlights. They look terrible! They are like orange with streaks of red. Please say that you still have hair! Im only 17 right now and I have died (I spelt dyed wrong :)) my hair alot! So everyone has been telling me my hair will eventually fall out. I just hope that your not bald or anything right now. I also hope that you have graduated college already. Are you a teacher? And then of course there is my worst fear. That I will never get married. Are you married? If you are, is he handsome? Are you happy? But even if you are married then I hope you are least not living at home, well I will be you soon!
Love,
You!!!

I thought it was hilarious that even in high school I was obsessed with my hair! The first thing I said to my mom when I read it was, HA I still have hair! She would ALWAYS tell me my hair is gonna fall out. I thought it was pretty funny that my worst fear then was not getting married. Now, just 5 short years later I worry about BEING married, a baby, and EVERYTHING else! Anyway's, it was just fun to read and also made me think about my life now. Thanks Mrs. Ottis!

photo's

Today I decided to test out my photography skills and take some pics of Ayden. And it wasn't easy AT ALL! He was just NOT cooperating at all. He was soo happy before we left but as soon as we got outside I couldn't get a smile out of him, I couldn't even get him to look at me! Then of course as soon as we got in he was just as happy as can be. What a little stinker! But I still think I got some pretty cute pics. I have been wanting to take more pics with the camera and try to figure this thing out. But I dont think it's too bad for my first little "photoshoot" :D. By the way, for some reason the quality of the photo's on the slide show isn't the greatest, sorry!
