This is how we roll

Some parent's like to take their kids to the park, watch them play, find things that make them happy. That's not how we roll. We like to take our kid to Target and make him play with toy's that scare the crap out of him. Granted, most toy's scare the crap out of him these day's so it's not as hard as you'd think to do this. He's pretty scared of puppet's, animatronic type toy's, or anything with loud noise. So we're strolling through the Target toy section when we came across a Jack-in-the-box. Pretty much all of Ayden's worst fear's combined. So being the kind of parent's that we are we wound it up, video taped his reaction, and maybe did it once or twice more for good measure. He screamed like a little girl! People came by our isle just to make sure we weren't torturing or beating our child. It is SO funny to us that Ayden is scared of anything, considering how unafraid he is of anything physically. Throw him across the room onto the couch, hilarious! Dangle him upside down and tickle his armpits, hilarious! Have him jump a few feet off the counter to you, NO FEAR! But for heaven sakes if you wind up a jack-in-the-box or put a puppet on your hand, TERROR!

So anyway's, this is the second take of the jack-in-the-box experiment and not quite as dramatic as the first. The quality is also pretty bad since we took it with Brian's phone, but the girly scream is very audible! :)

My little 3 Year Old!!!

My precious little baby turned 3 years old today! Where in the world did the time go!? It's so hard to believe that 3 year's ago today I was holding a newborn Ayden in my arm's. It's even harder to believe that in about 3 1/2 months time I'll be holding another newborn in my arms.

For his birthday we took Ayden to the Phoenix Zoo. We were able to get free passes, which made the trip a lot funner and more easy going. We didn't feel like we had to hang around all day to get our money's worth and we even sprung for train tickets. They have a train that goes around most of the zoo and I HIGHLY recommend doing that! It was super hot outside and it was nice not to have to walk around the whole place, plus the driver was really fun and sang songs as we were going around. We even found a petting zoo! They had a train stop by this part of the zoo that we'd never been to that had a petting zoo. Ayden had fun poking and touching the goat's and even got kicked over by one for touching his tail :) hehe, has was a little suprised that they fight back! We then took him to Toy's R Us to pick out one of his birthday presents. Although he would have gladly taken the about $200 worth toy's he picked out, he settled for a water toy for the pool, a monster truck and a Disney Car's pez dispenser. He's got quite few more toy's that he will get tomorrow in a scavenger hunt, because isn't it more fun to spread the birthday presents out over a few day's!?

Sleeping Cutie and Potty Training

Can somebody please explain to me how going in to see you child asleep can erase any terrible day? No matter how many tantrum's, door slam's, accident's and trouble this kid get's into at the end of the day he is as sweet as an angel to me. This is one of my favorite time's of the day, going in to watch him sleep. I think it reminds me of when he was a newborn so sweet and innocent, incapable of getting into all the trouble he get's into.

The last 2 week's have been pretty stressful. We began potty training, which I don't recommend doing while pregnant as my patience isn't quite the same. He did pretty terrible the first couple of day's and I was very close to giving up. After about 2-3 day's of accident's he finally seemed to get it. He is doing great now! Very few accident's and usually only when he is VERY upset. I still put him in a pull up for nap and bed time's and when we go out anywhere. I am DEFINITELY not ready to deal with an accident at a store just yet. It's so funny, I never thought I would be SO proud to see someone use the bathroom!

We also are in the process of enrolling Ayden in preschool! So crazy! He will be going to get some speech therapy but will be in an integrated regular preschool class. I think this will be SO good for him to be around other children his age and I think he will just LOVE it. If everything goes well, he should be starting in August!

Well, that's my quick little update. I can't believe how long it's been since I have updated my blog, I swear it feels like I do it more than I do! Hopefully this month will be better :)
