Poll Results

So I am sure everyone has been sitting on the edge of thier seats waiting to hear what this whole poll thing is about! Brian and I have had an on-going argument since we have known eachother over whether jackass is a bad word or not. I think it is and Brian claims it's not. He say's since they say it in Pinnochio that it's not a bad word. Then the other day I was watching Little House on the Prarie and lo and behold good old Mrs. Oelson says that word. Mind you, Brian was playing his game and not even watching the show with me! I was hoping that he hadn't heard it, but he did (the stinker!). So one more excuse as to why it's not a bad word, cause since they say it on Little House on the Prarie it CAN'T be a bad word. Well, I still think it is a bad word and my little poll proved me right! 9 people voted that it IS a bad word, so majority rules and say's it is bad! Ha! Not like it will change Brian's mind any... and hey, I'd like to know which 2 of you thought it's not a bad word! hehe j/k!
So I get movies from the library all the time and had kind of seen them all at my regular library and decided to check out another one in my area. They had 5 seasons of Little House on the Prarie! I LOVE this show! It's been so fun to watch all the episodes in order, and I realized I haven't seen hardly any of them. Okay, so Brian had been teasing me about watching this show for day's. One day he sits down while he's eating and ends up watching one episode with me. Totally hooked! Haha, now HE loves the show. Im telling you, it is just the best show out there. It's SO nice to be able to watch a good show and not have to worry about ANYTHING bad in it at all (except of course the word jackass :)). Im so gonna miss our libraries over here when we move, hopefully we will have a really great one over there too!

Easton David Richins and My AMAZING New Years!

So, Im ashamed at how long it's been since I have updated my blog, and hopefully I'll do much better in 2009! We spent Christmas with my family in Tucson, and it was SO nice to be home. We stayed quite a few days and it was great to be able to spend so much time with my family.

The day before Christmas Eve we all got an AMAZING early Christmas present. My sister had her baby early! She wasn't due until the beginning of January so we were so excited that it happened early, and we were able to see the baby! And let me tell you, this baby is CUTE! They named him Easton David Richins. What a cute name! He weighed 9 lbs 3 oz and was 21 in long! How a baby of that size lived in my tiny sister I will never know! I got to spend all our time there cuddling with him! If I wasn't baby hungry before, I sure am now! hehe, It IS nice though to be able to hand him over to Renee if I get tired or if he gets fussy though! :) Renee is doing so good! It's such a painful and tiring time after just having a baby and she and Josh were nice enough to come hang out with us every day! This is such a cute picture of Renee and Easton in the hospital! She looks so great, cant believe she just had him in this pic!Ayden had a great Christmas. He was definitely spoiled by everyone this year. He had a big circle of all his presents around him and seemed a little overwhelmed by them all! :) I've put most of them away and will rotate them out, so he will get to play with brand new toys every week or so. So far I have kept his truck, stacking cups and this giant ball maze (hard to explain) and they are keeping him way busy! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Schmutz and Renee and Josh for all his many toys!

Speaking of spoiled, Brian and I were pretty spoiled this year too! We got a new portrait lens for our camera, and I CANT WAIT to play with it! We have played around with it a little and it is AWESOME! Thank You SO MUCH Mommy and Daddy! They also got us a gift certificate to Cheesecake Factory and we are way excited about that! Renee and Josh (you stinkers) got us Scene It for XBox 360, which I LOVE! I love those kinds of games and its alot funner than the board game version.

While in Tucson, Brian and I had kind of a belated anniversary. My mom watched Ayden while we went to the mall and saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Which I loved and Brian didn't so much :) It was just so much fun to get out and go on a date. I could probably count the number of dates we've been on since Ayden was born on one hand. It's pretty sad, so any time we can splurge and go out is AWESOME! Thank You so much Mommy and Daddy!

Now on to New Years! It was.... unique! I can safely say that I have never cleaned up baby throw up during the ball dropping! I had gotten all ready, curled my hair and did my makeup. Then about 5 minutes before the ball dropping I went in to wake Ayden up, only to find him covered in throw up. It was so sad! He popped up as soon as I came in and just stood there shaking! He was such a sad sick baby last night, and I felt so bad wondering if it was something I fed him or what. He NEVER throws up! In fact, this is the first time he has done real throw up and not just baby spit up. Anyways, Im sure you are all fascinated by my disgusting story but Im gonna stop! Oh and for a WONDEFUL New Years present, after I went to sleep, Brian cleaned the house!I didn't even ask him to! I woke up this morning and wondered were I was! hehe, It was such a great suprise and I am so lucky to have such a sweet husband!

So that's about all that's been going on here. I hope that everyone had Happy Holidays and that you will all have a fabulous 2009!

Finally getting into the Christmas spirit

So I am FINALLY starting to get some Christmas spirit this year! I put up my tree yesterday, which is way later than I normally do. Im usually begging Brian to let me put it up anytime after Halloween. I just haven't been in a holiday mood I guess. This year has been so stressful, and is just getting worse. I wonder if there will ever be a time when we can just breathe. But I made up my mind to at least get the Christmas tree out and set it up. It's a pretty lame tree, only 3 feet tall and pre-lit with colored Christmas lights (yuck :)). It kind of reminds me of the sad little Charlie Brown Christmas tree. But I had alot of decorations from last year and I think it looks pretty good! I had forgotten about these ornaments I made last year and was so excited to see them. I love homemade ornaments, and think they add a cute touch to the tree. Here are some pictures of our lovely little tree:I Love this star, I got it right before Brian and I got married! So anyway's since I havent blogged in a little while I'll briefly talk about what's been going on around here:
  • Brian is currently in the middle of finals week! He is so stressed out, trying to cram as much studying as he can in. Please remember him in your prayers, at least until Thursday! hehe
  • Ayden apparantly has been teething again, we found 2 new teeth today! That explains alot!
  • Ayden's been babbling alot and likes to imitate things that Brian and I do. Today I told caught him by the Christmas tree with an ornament and got after him. I waved my finger and said no, no, no. So now he goes up to the Christmas tree and waves his little finger and babbles no, no, no :)
  • I just did my first mystery shopping job on Saturday! I did it at Aeropostale in the mall. However, I signed up for it about 2 months ago and didn't even think about scheduling it for a Saturday this close to Christmas. The mall was HORRIBLE! It took me 20 minutes just to find a parking spot, ANY parking spot. There was not ONE empty spot in the entire mall parking lot. I ended up getting one at the very end of the parking lot after someone left. It was crazy! I have no plans on going back there until after December! Yuck!
