Cousin Love

Ayden and I went to Tucson this weekend to spend some time with my family. Saturday my Dad, Devin and I took Ayden and Sydney to the Tucson zoo. I think the kid's had a ton of fun! And Ayden sure loves Sydney! They would walk together and Ayden would grab Sydney's hand! It was SO cute! I'm not sure if Renee and I should be concerned about the amount of affection Ayden has for Sydney just yet! Maybe it's time I sit down with him and explain the importance of family boundaries! :) Anyway's those two are so cute together, they are pretty inseparable while they are together (as long as Ayden doesn't touch Sydney's snow white doll! hehe). It's so nice to see Ayden have such a great friend in his cousin and can't wait to see how close they are in the future! Here are some pictures of these two cuties from the zoo.

It's about time!

Well, I guess it's about time I update my blog! Between being pregnant and sheer laziness my blog has suffered. So to keep from writing a super long post I'll give everyone the cliff notes of what's been going on with everybody!

Brian: Is still working hard in school and working on the weekends. He works the night shift from 10:15 p.m.-6:30 a.m., and how he does it I'll never know! He is amazing!

Marie: I am finally in my second trimester (YAY!) and I feel great/better! I have a doctor's appointment on Friday and hopefully we will be able to schedule the big ultrasound very soon! :) I have been DYING to sew all the baby things I have in my mind! I also just had my 25th birthday on April 8th! It was pretty amazing and Brian spoiled me rotten :) Which was a little bit sad considering all I got him for his birthday was an Egg Genie! But thanks everybody for all the Happy Birthday wishes!

Ayden: Is growing so fast! I swear that kid get's taller every day! He is as hyper, crazy, and sweet as ever :) He had his first dentist appointment yesterday and to my surprise has NO cavities! Yay! He is pretty into all things Toy Story and say's Buzz in a sweet little voice all the time. He can spot a Buzz product in a store from a mile away! Luckily he doesn't really care if we get it or not he just like's to look at it, we'll see how long that last's!

Here are some pictures from the last little while

I was cleaning yesterday afternoon and randomly Ayden brought in his pillow and blanket and fell right asleep on the couch! This NEVER happens and I thought it was too cute!

Pictures from going to the park to feed the ducks today:
His hat was a little too big so he'd pull the bill up, a bit of a nerdy look!
He LOVED feeding the ducks, but was just so bad at it! He'd run up to them scaring them away and then throw the bread at them, then he'd walk away with his chest puffed out and a big smile on his face!

We went to Brendan and Katie's for an Easter egg hunt and Ayden found this Batman mask and baseball glove that he wanted to wear around! So funny!

Hair

Hello everyone!
Let me start out by saying how awkward it is for me to talk about money. Not sure why, it's just one of those awkward conversations to have especially with friends and family. When I decided to go to beauty school one of my main reason's for going was because it was something I could do from home and make some money. But since graduating I have only really done friends and family AND since money is such an awkward subject for me, charging for doing hair has been pretty wishy washy. As much as I LOVE doing hair I still have school debts that I am paying off, license renewals, equipment and supplies that I pay for, and MUCH more. So, from now on I will be charging for doing hair. I really hope this doesn't offend anyone or stop anyone from coming to me, because I LOVE doing hair! Here are my prices which I have compared with other salons and I think are pretty fair.

Hair cut- $10
Child's Cut- $8
(From now on I won't be doing any children under 4 years old. I know it sounds awful, but cutting children's hair is HARD! Let's just say that Ayden has only had about 4 haircut's in his entire life and 2 of them were clippering his entire head! So PLEASE don't ask me!)
Single Color Process-$30
Single Color With Haircut-$35
Highlights-$40
Highlights With Haircut-$45

So there it is! I think this will be a good thing and the first thing I am saving up for is a portable shampoo bowl! Yay for that! Thanks!

I Have Some BIG!!! News!

Wanna know my BIG news!?
I have the best husband in the world! Okay seriously! He's the best! And if you think I'm wrong feast your eye's on this:
I woke up on Valentine's Morning to some beautiful roses and a New Moon poster! Haha, he is good! He may have bought this as more of a funny gift, but little does he know that I have plans to hang it up in our bedroom so it's the first thing we see when we wake up! ;)
(excuse the cheeto smile, but this is the best one out of MANY :))
For Ayden, I took him out to breakfast and gave him the movie Up. Which we have now watched about a million times! He has since learned how to remove whatever DVD I have in and replace it with the movie of his choice. He can even start the movie on his own! Quite scary if you ask me!
So, I know that it has been quite a while since my last blog update, and it's especially bad since the title of my last blog was New Years Resolution #1: Update Blog More! Guess I didn't do so good on that one! I do have a reason though!
We are pregnant! I guess this qualifies as big news too :) After 9 LONG month's of trying we are finally pregnant! My due date is September 28th and I am 8 weeks along. We weren't planning on saying anything until after I had seen a doctor, but word got out! We don't keep secret's very well around here! :) I started a baby blog journal to try to keep better track of what's going on this pregnancy. I wish I had kept a journal with Ayden, because it's been so long since I have been pregnant I feel like I'm doing it for the first time all over again! It's completely for me so that I can look back and remember all this stuff that is going on, and I am planning on turning it into a book that I can have someday. But anyone is more than welcome to take a look!

New Years Resolution #1: Update Blog More :)

So since one of my New Year's resolutions is to update my blog more, I thought now is as good a time as any to start! We just got back from a very long Christmas trip which was SO much fun but also very exhausting! We started out going to my parents the day before Christmas Eve and staying the night before making our way to Pima. I won't go into presents this time because I think I would like to do a whole other post on all the AWESOME stuff we got! Christmas was definitely kind to our little family this year! So for now I'm just going to post some pictures from our trip. We didn't take a whole lot of pictures this time because we were just having so much fun! I feel like when I try to take pictures I'm missing out on all the fun! But here are a few we got:

We went up the mountain to play in the snow and since this was Ayden's first snow trip we were curious as to how he would take it. He did okay, although unless he was constantly being played with he would start to throw fit's. He LOVED going down the hill on the tube and being pelted with snowballs (I know, what a weird kid I have! :)). He was SO cute all bundled up and waddling around!
Brian about to take Ayden and Nicholas down the Hill, with Karen.
Once Ayden figured out the snow was somewhat edible he was pretty excited!
Ayden getting into my Mom's birthday cake. Before we cut it Ayden stuck his finger in the frosting and said Yum! It's a good thing Grandma's thinks these things are funny :)

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Wow, it's already been four years! In some way's it feels as if we have been married forever but at the same time it seem's like just yesterday we were posing for wedding pics! What a wonderful four years it has been! We have been so blessed these last four years and have some amazing memories. And then there's the squirt! What an amazing kid we have! I'm pretty much in awe every day that Brian and I made such a cute kid! :) It's so funny to see little bit's of each of us in him.
I have been thinking a lot lately of our wedding day and I wanted to record some of the things that I remember about that day (while I can still remember some of it!)
  • I remember getting my hair done at Ric Erickson's the morning of my wedding. The nail woman who worked there (and had just done my nails the day before) was fired that morning. Let's just say she didn't take it well and had to be escorted out by the police! In her defense it was like the week before Christmas and it was a pretty crappy time to let someone go! Don't get me started on that....
  • I remember going to the bathroom in Burger King, veil and all, on the way to Mesa and a little girl called me a princess :)
  • I remember being about a million pounds thinner :)
  • I remember hiding out in the bathroom in the temple trying to get mascara out of my veil!
  • I remember sitting in the room they make you wait in before you go into the sealing room scared to death. I was NEVER nervous about getting married at all until then. I think they stick you in that room to weed out all the one's who really aren't ready!
  • I remember going into the sealing room crying. Then out of nowhere I started laughing uncontrollably. I also remember Brian's face of stone, showing no emotion which made me laugh harder.
  • I remember a gunfight
  • I remember my dad showing a REALLY humiliating slide show of me with about 50 different poses that I did while trying to get a good picture. I remember there being braces in the picture, not good!
  • I remember stuffing cake in Brian's face, and him being the gentleman that he is stuffed it right back!
  • I remember going to my grandma's house after the reception to open some wedding presents. While we were getting ready to leave I realized that I left my purse in my dad's car. It took him till around 1-2 in the morning to "find" my Grandma's house. Coincidence, I think not!
  • I remember the AMAZING hotel room Brian got for that night, which we only stayed in for a few hours :)
What a great day that was! It was perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better and a better four years! I hope our year's to come are just as good!
